Internships at Sensible City

Our light-filled, inclusive offices in downtown Asheville create a healthy internship atmosphere for creative, resourceful individuals who wish to participate in marketing, public relations and event programming initiatives for a host of progressive national and global brands.

Available to recent graduates or students enrolled in an college or university program, each internship requires a minimum of (16) hours per week and must comply with the minimum requirements of any school credit programs. Personal interviews of all applicants will be required.

The following positions are open:

• Public Relations Intern
  Conduct research, filter media lists, assist with the drafting of press releases and media advisories, coordinate/support media events, archive broadcast media clips and offer general assistance to Media Relations Director.

• Environmental Protection Agency Outreach Intern
  This position filled.

• Web 2.0 / Social Media Outreach Intern
  Your job is to work with our existing intern team to communicate with educators and journalists throughout the United States who use blogging and other web based technologies in their curriculum and/or to communicate their experiences beyond the teaching community. Some coordination of focus groups may be involved. This is a community building effort, ideal for any public-relations minded or K12 education minded student wishing to explore the growing online community of progressive educators who understand the importance of technology in the classroom. No sales or solicitation is involved. To be considered for the position, the following qualifications must be met:
  • Some form of K12 classroom teaching or assistant experience
  • Broad understanding of web-based social media
  • Expertise using Microsoft Office as well as Excel
  • Ability to conduct internet research
  • Proven time management skills and a positive attitude.
